Design with the land, not against it.

Regenerative Ecology LLC plans, plants, and sells ground that works — permaculture design and land-based real estate built to outlast the season, and us.

Our approach

We read water, sun, and soil before we draw a single line.

Every property tells you what it wants to become, if you slow down long enough to look. Before any planting plan or building sketch, we walk the land through a full season where we can, mapping slope, sun path, drainage, and the microclimates already at work.

That reading becomes the design — and, where it makes sense, it becomes the case for buying, holding, or selling the ground itself. Our real estate practice only touches parcels we'd be glad to design for.

  • Observe
Slope, sun, wind, water and existing life on the site, documented across seasons where time allows.
  • Design
A zone-based plan that puts the most-tended elements closest to the house and the wildest closest to the edge.
  • Steward
Installation, planting, and earthworks carried out in the order the land can actually absorb.
  • Transact
When land is the right fit, we help clients acquire, structure, or place it — with the design already in mind.
The zone method

How we plan a property

Permaculture design organizes a site into zones by how often they need your attention — zone 0 is the house, zone 5 is left wild. We use the same map to organize what we offer. Select a zone to read more.

  • Z0

    Home & Design Studio

Where every project starts: site consultation, survey, and the working drawings for everything else on this map.

  • Z1

    Kitchen Gardens & Food Forests

Beds and edible plantings sited for daily tending — herbs, greens, and layered food forests just steps from the door.

  • Z2

    Water & Earthworks

Swales, ponds, and rainwater catchment that slow water on the land instead of shedding it downhill.

  • Z3

    Orchards & Pasture

Larger plantings and rotational grazing plans for properties that can support them — designed to need less as they mature.

  • Z4

    Woodlot & Stewardship

Long-range forestry and land management plans for timber, firewood, and habitat, checked in on a few times a year.

  • Z5

    Wild Land & Real Estate

The edge left untouched — and our real estate practice, for acquiring, selling, or placing conservation-minded parcels.
